Accepting Ourselves For Who We Are.

Whether you're a boy or girl, tall or short, skinny or curvy, you deserve to 100% love yourself for you and don't let anyone make you think otherwise.
I love the variety of shapes and sizes we now see celebrities represent. From the gorgeous curvy Ashley Graham to gorgeous skinny Selena Gomez, NEITHER are what your body should look like. In fact however your body looks is really okay, and no the world didn't need clarification from me either, it's always been okay, we've just never chosen to accept it. It's amazing. It's your body! Our bodies aren't suppose to look like anybody else's but our own.
If you're naturally curvy, naturally skinny, naturally straight figured, naturally tall, naturally short, IT IS OKAY.
Growing up as a naturally bigger girl has always made me feel insecure. I've constantly had the belief that I'm not good enough, or my figure is weird, or that this part of my body sticks out or that this part is saggy.
But do you know what? I've grown to realise that what matters more than what I look like, is how I actually treat and talk to myself. Not going to lie, forcing myself to 'love' my body wasn't easy and some days I really do struggle and I'll sit on social media for hours comparing my body to other girls' bodies who are perfect and beautiful etc.
I don't know about you, but when it comes to having my picture taken, my main focus is 'how can I make myself look skinny?', whether it's popping my collarbones out or breathing in until my smile actually makes me look like I'm constipated!! I mean the crazy thing is, I'm not fat, I'm curvy. I'm not skinny and never will be because that's not my natural shape.
This idea that we should be skinny, or we should be curvy, or we should be tall with long legs, or we should be short and so on, needs to stop. We shouldn't need to be anything but who we are. We are all who we are. It's as simple as that.
What I forget to remember is, although I may not have Kim Kardashian's figure, my figure is mine. This is who I am. It is healthy and it is perfectly okay. Don't get me wrong, I'm not Kim K and I'd definitely kill for her figure but Kim K is Kim K and I am me!
This is what makes me, me. This is what puberty has done to me. This body has kept me alive and healthy and so it deserves lots and lots of love and acceptance.
We are all beautiful beings no matter what colour skin we are, what gender identity we identify as, our shape, our height or our size. We are all amaaaaaazing and beautiful and glorious <3.
SO, my point is, if you don't like what you look like, please please please learn to love it. Even if there are parts you plan on changing, learning to love yourself in the process is so beneficial, and good for you mentally.
You are beautiful and amazing as you are today, there's nothing wrong with wanting to change but PLEASE make sure it's for the right reasons.
Never let anyone else tell you what you should look like. You deserve to love yourself, starting today, if not already.
Ciao for now x
