5 Tips For Recharging Your Own Batteries

This evening's blog post is all about recharging those physical and mental batteries that can feel completely drained after a long week or even day.

Whatever it is, I thought it'd be a good idea to make a short little blog post all about refreshing and taking some time out for you time. Even if only for 5 minutes.

1. Spend some time by yourself

Go for a walk by yourself, take your dog, but go by yourself. I feel like it's so good to just have a couple of minutes by ourselves to refresh the mind and have some peace and quiet.

Go to your favourite place, or go and get a coffee. Go on your own is the goal, take some work or a book if you're worried about looking like a weirdo (you get used to it after a while).

2. Take some time to do NOTHING

Do something pointless. Recharging means getting that fuel back up. When you charge your phone, it takes so much longer to reach 100% when you're on it.

Sit down and breathe.........

Watch a film or some tv, read a book, something that won't take much energy to do.

3. Remember to self-care

Take a long bath or shower and have a good cleanse, of your face and of your body. Take your time and get ya self clean.

Do whatever it is that's going to make you feel refreshed e.g getting your hair cut or trimming your nails.

4. Do one thing productive

Get something you've been meaning to get done, trust me it'll make you feel much more in control and take a strain off your shoulders.

If not, do something helpful for yourself or someone else. Whether it's washing up some dishes or doing a weekly shop, anything that you want to do.

5. Have a mental detox

We all like to talk about these detoxes, the detox tea's and so on, but we always forget about upstairs!

Our minds are put through A LOT daily. Take a break from your phone for at least half an hour, forget about emails, forget about social media, put it to one side just for a little while.

Talk to someone, read a book or write it down on a piece of paper. We all face challenging things in our lives and it's important to deal with them properly rather than avoiding them.

There's no shame in talking to someone, or if not, getting it out on a piece of paper to see what's going on visually.

Hope you make time for some you time.

Ciao for now x
