Who Are You?

We all reach a point in life where we embark on some kind of journey to find ourselves. We reach a point where we question what on earth we're doing here. Why are we here? Who are we?
I haven't quite stumbled upon who I am but I'm for damn sure on my way there. It's so important to discover what matters to you and why? What are you so incredibly passionate about and why?
Who you are is that person you see when you close your eyes, daydream and envision yourself rolling in success. THAT is who you are.
If you're not who you want to be, who exactly do you want to be?
Nobody wakes up one day as the person they want to be. Anne Hathaway didn't wake up one day as an actress. Beyonce didn't wake up as an actress. Will Smith didn't wake up with an influential voice.
They all worked their butts off to get to where they are today.
To get to where one wants to go, one must start the journey. Put your socks on first. Then your shoes. Wall-ah you're ready to embark on your own pathway.
The trickiest part of anything is starting. Us humans like to mull it over for hours on end - are we making the right decision? What if we aren't any good? What if we fail?
Who comes up with all these self-doubting, expecting failure thoughts? Fear. Good ooooold fear.
As with anything you do in life, how do you know until you try?
Yes you may fail, yes it might not work out as you originally planned, yes you might get rejected a thousand times. However, life is full of second chances and endless possibilities.
You're allowed to mess up once, twice, however many times it takes. That doesn't mean you're not capable of achieving what you want to achieve.
It's crucial to block out the "what will people think of me" and focus on what / how you're going to start the journey to becoming who you want to be.
Trust me, everyone will have their opinion. Some good and some bad. Both will help you along the way. Don't feel like you have to prove yourself to anybody this is for you and you alone.
At the end of December 2017, I decided I'd like to start writing my own blogs, properly! It was something I'd started countless times over the years but made it public, it went as far as the eyes of my mum and sisters.
It was a scary step for me and for months I wondered if I was actually any good at it. Did people even enjoy reading them?
Every now and then I'll receive a really lovely and supportive message off somebody I've possibly never spoken to before, and it's the best thing in the world.
A lot of your supporters of your work will remain silent and that's okay. Don't focus on anything else but the work you're setting out to do. It'll all work out as it's meant to as long as you're prepared to put the work in and completely dedicate yourself to it.
You have to act as who you want to be before you become who you want to become. Decide who you want to be and become just that.
We all have a purpose to serve and a reason to be here. PLEASE remember that. It's just a case of digging deep and finding it.
Ciao for now x
